However you may have known him, Grampy or Honey or Dad or Ken or Kenny or Masonic Brother... We have to agree that he was a very unique individual. I am fortunate to have become part of his and Vera's family 35 years ago and found myself during the services a week ago...feeling very grateful.

Grateful that he was no longer suffering, that he taught me many things (sometimes with thin patience) from deck building to mechanics. Grateful that he was always willing to "help" with my problems. Grateful for his Masonic brothers (past and present) who meant so much to the purpose in his life.... I know, because he told me.

Grateful for both Ken and Vera, as they were a team and helped guide Kenda and I to become one.

But we are most grateful that he was able to play a large part and influence on his grandchildren's lives. Kenrik, Karli and Alex have a gift of knowing and loving their grandparents that not all of us get. He loved them.... I know because he told me.

Near the end, I always greeted him with a kiss on the cheek and told him I loved him.... he felt the same... I know, because he told me.

Dear Vera and family,
So sorry for your loss. I know that Ken has been suffering with cancer for the past two years. I know we will all miss him greatly. But at least he is done suffering. I know it is not easy to think this way , I have been through this with my own father. I know it is not easy and everyone says it will get easier every day. It sounds good, but you will miss him forever. I still do and it has been 19 years.
Know that you are thought of often by all of us.

Margie's, Catie's, and my own thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ken and Vera have been the very best neighbors we could have ever hoped for. I will always think of Ken when working on any project around the house or in the back yard, and I'll always think, "this isn't as good a job as Ken would've done." To Ken: God's Speed, To Vera: We are here, if you need anything, just ask. Prayerful condolences -Mike, Margie, and Catie
