Dr. Carolyn Stone, Lester II, and the Stone and Ward families, I just learned today that we could write messages of condolences to the family. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to sit under Pastor Stone's preaching and teaching. I am a much better person for having done so. He not only "talked the talk, but walked the walk." I know you and Lester and your families have suffered a great loss and so have we, but I also know that you have many wonderful memories to help you through these difficult times. I want to thank you for your wonderful example. God is blessing you to carry on. Friendship were so blessed to have a Pastor like Pastor Stone. Not only Friendship, but the City of Lansing have been blessed because of him. May God continue to strengthen and keep you in His care.

My payers are with Dr.Sister Carolyn D.Stone and Lester. I am so grateful for the time Pastor Stone and I shared together he has impacted my life so deeply with his Preaching, teaching and with the spirit of humility he displayed by loving his fellow brothers. His feelings of compassion, empathy, and sympathy for others. The Holy Spirit led him to do what was most loving. He showed how love was a gift from God through the Holy Spirt he taught me how to lead others to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through love. Pastor Stone showed me everday what it really meant to love somebody inspite of what they may do to you. He taught me how God gives the Holy Spirit to believers to empower them to live differently and to keep the commandments to love God as well as each other. I will truly miss this man of God who continue to lead his flock in spite of difficuties never wavering in his faith. Words could never express my gratitude he will forever be a part of my life because I carry the key thought reminders and the conscienous awareness of the Holy Spirt. He fought a good fight and now he has gone home to get his crown. For he knew the battle was not his it was the Lord's.Rest in Peace you are gone but not forgotten.

Lansing has lost a great man. On a Sunday Morning in 1989, Rev. Stone preached a sermon on "Faith". This message prepared me for what I would be faced with in the future. Because of Rev. Stone and this message, I was able to overcome those obstacles that later invaded my life. In addition, Rev. Stone was always there to guide not only me but members of my family.

Although he will be missed, but the one consolation is that he is now with our Lord and Savior, and will be watching over his children.

Mrs. Stone & Family,
God bless you and the entire family during Pastor Stone homegoing. I remember when the dedication of Logan Street to MLK Blvd that warm summer afternoon I attended the event with my friend and that is when I first heard Pastor Stone speak. I told my friend he preached a sermon instead of a dedication. That's when I knew there was something special about Pastor Stone. Pastor Stone was truly a spiritual leader from God who had the spirit of giving and bring the word of God. Every time I attended services at Friendship, his message will be so strong and powerful. The City of Lansing was blessed to have had such a great leader not only in the church, but in the community. Pastor Stone will truly be missed. Rest In Peace.

He has done a lot of great things for the citizens of Lansing in the area civil rights, watchmen for the souls of his congregation, lawyer (unofficial) in the court rooms, and so much more.
