Mary Aten Obituary

Mary M. (Marcy) Aten Lansing Age 82, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away December 24, 2011. Born January 22, 1929 in Hubbardston, MI the daughter of Munlee and Edna Cranson. She was a long time member of North Westminster Presbyterian Church and worked in the church office for several years. Marcy was an Avon representative for many years, earning numerous Avon President's Awards, and was also a valued election inspector with Lansing Township for over 30 years. She was an avid bowler, seamstress, and pinochle player. Marcy spent countless hours knitting items for RSVP and HAP. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Billie A. Aten, and her parents. Surviving are her children Tracie Harris, Gary (Susan) Aten, and Keith (Jenelle) Aten; 9 grandchildren, Kimberly (Jimmy), Kari (Jason), Jason (Bethany), Andrew (Linsey), Eric (Laura), Casey (Rachel), Kyle, Kelli, and Jozlyn; and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation is from 2-4, 6-8 p.m.Tuesday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Services will be 1:00 p.m. North Westminster Presbyterian Church, 743 N. Martin Luther King BLVD., Lansing with Rev. Timothy Chon officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services at church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge. Contributions may be made to the Capital Area Human Society or Sparrow's Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Friends may visit the guest book at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com

We were saddened to read Marcy's obituary in the State Journal when we returned home from our family vacation in Hawaii on January 1.

She was a lovely person and we have many fond memories of her. We are sorry we were unable to have that final Chinese dinner with her!
