Phyllis McNeil Obituary

Formerly of Lansing, Michigan
Phyllis Jean McNeil was born on July 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Glenn and Reba (Cook) Porterfield, and passed away on November 7, 2014 at the age of 90. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. She also loved going to her cottage "Up North" and, most of all, visiting with her family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Elwin McNeil; brother, Bruce Porterfield; son-in-law, Harold Remington; and granddaughter, Deanna McNeil. Surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters, Linda Remington of Portland, MI, Wanda (Richard) Draper of Stanton, MI and Carol St. Pierre of Lansing; son, Clayton (Susie) McNeil of Orleans, MI; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Glenn Porterfield; and sister-in-law, Edith Porterfield. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Della Summers and five beloved grand-dogs.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 3:00~6:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral home. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Hospice of Spectrum Health, 4500 Breton, Grand Rapids, MI 49508 or Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906, in memory of Phyllis Jean McNeil. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.

Wanda, We are so sorry to read of your mothers passing, she was a really nice lady whom I liked a lot, saw article too late to visit but will keep you in my prayers, can't call as I do not have a correct phone number for you.
