My deepest sympathies go out to the family. I worked with Dick at Inco Graphics for about 8 years. He always had a good joke and would bring a smile to your face. He will be missed.

I will never forget the first time I met Dick Beard. He had come to our small home office to bid on the new publication we were starting in 1993. After a lengthy conversation, Dick was more concerned about the challenges my husband and I would face with a new business rather than trying to “sell” us. Needless to say, we soon became fast friends. Not only were my husband and I clients of Dick’s for 16+ years, but friends. We could always count on him to contribute to our annual Christmas toy drive for the needy (which he would pay for out of his own pocket) and it was so much fun to watch his face light up when he told us how much fun he had picking out (i.e.: playing with) all of the toys! He enjoyed the company Christmas parties and loved to be a part of our festivities. Also, since he loved to fish so much, we had him come to the lake we lived on to unwind and hopefully catch a few, after which he would enjoy “happy hour” with our neighbors. Dick loved our children and always had a kind word to say about them. As a matter of fact, just at the time he was diagnosed, he gave my son’s 4th grade class, as well as the kindergarten class from the school, a “royal tour” of IncoGraphics. My son couldn’t say enough about Mr. Beard and everyone there at Inco and how much fun it was! Dick made things fun and was the most honest, decent, loving friends we have ever known and we will always treasure his friendship. Truly a piece of our hearts is missing, but Dick’s memory will live on forever in our hearts. We love you, Dick! Randy and Dawn Lang (Chris, Alex and Emily)

I will forever remember the many rounds of golf together, the Saturday nights on the slopes, to Wednesday night bowling, to opening day at Tigers Stadium, and the many great times fishing at Batteese Lake in the shanty. Over the years I have had some of the best times of my life with a great friend. R.I.P. Gary

The happy memories with Dick are far to many to mention, especially the times fishing with Jody. We hope he finds a nice place to fish in heaven along with his buddy Grover.

Thinking about Dick since learning how serious his condition was gave us time to realize how important he has been to us and to many many others. Yes he was a nice, kind, pleasant man but he was ultimately way more than that. We knew him as a printing salesman. That's about it. But he was a subtle, very low pressure salesman that really was HONEST. He didn't make promises that he couldn't keep and he didn't tell you what you wanted to hear just to get or keep your business. He was after our printing business many many years ago and it took about a year or longer for him to get it. When we finally did switch and do business with him, that is when we discovered how truly honest he was. It was a real pleasure working with him, getting to know him a tiny bit and because of his persistence we believe our business was able to grow and provide income to 5 to 10 families. We were business friends and 6 years ago when we semi-retired to Nevada we continued doing business with Dick even from here. We invited him to come and visit and see all the beautiful nature that is all around sin city and we think he was tempted. Especially after seeing pictures of the fish we catch at Lake Mead out here in the desert. We always thought he would come for that visit. How wonderful for his family to know that we cannot think of one negative moment knowing him. He really will be missed.
