Roger Edward Sweet

Roger Edward Sweet Lansing Roger was born June 3, 1917 in Lansing, MI; the son of Howard and Elsie (Huddle) Sweet. He passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the age of 94. A Staff Sergeant in WWII he was decorated in three European campaigns. Roger loved the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing, and built the family cottage on Tupper Lake near Lake Odessa. He worked many years in retail management, all in the Lansing area, starting in 1950 as a Furrier at Arbaugh's Department Store. Roger is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Margaret, Charles, and Robert; daughter in-law Therese; grandchildren, David and Jennifer; his sister Helen and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation for Roger will be held Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church with the Funeral Liturgy to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family towards a future memorial to Roger. Condolences can be made at www.palmerbush.com.
