Dr. Susan Applegate Krouse, Ziigwam Nibi Kwe (Spring Water Woman) Haslett Born July 1, 1955 to John and Carol Applegate; Dr. Susan Applegate Krouse "walked on" July 12, 2010 at the age of 55. She served as Director of the American Indian Studies Program and was an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Michigan State University. Her passion was her work in American Indian studies and the students that she mentored. She was the author of numerous books and articles in her field. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nancy, and her brother, David. She is survived by her husband, Ned Krouse whom she married August 19, 1978 in Grand Blanc, MI. She is also survived by her brother, Bob (Jeneil Wright) Applegate of Linden, MI. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI.
