Bob wanted me to be sure to send our condolences to Mr. DeRose's family. Dave your dad was a great man. We have been reminiscing about when you, your sons and dad came to our house for dinner in Ft. Myers. He was such a pleasure and made us feel so good because he seemed to really enjoy himself. Bob didn't have you dad at Everett, nor did I, but everyone we know who did said he was the BEST. Please accept our sincere sympathy and we hope there can be a memorial for him soon that everyone who loved and admired him, can attend.

To the family of Mr. DeRose I have just been made aware of the passing of Mr. DeRose. I was his student, friend, and a person who he made a lasting impression, and, who he guided and influenced my life. I became a teacher because of him and modeled my teaching methods by the way he related to me and others. While I was at Everett he spent a lot of time with me outside of the classroom The good things I have done and accomplished are for the most part from his influence and example. Many of my fondest memories are of the times we spent together outside of the classroom He took me to many MSU basketball games and would treat me as an equal. I still think of him as Mr. DeRose, out of the respect I had and still have for him. Tom Sweeney, class of 59

Mr. DeRose was my coach and teacher back in the late 50's and early 60's at Everett High School. I will never forget him. Great coach, mentor and roll model. He was part of a staff at Everett that included Ted Bauer, Dean Shippey. Archie Ross, Ken Eckman and Mike Smith. All legends. Mr. DeRose, I was fortunate and lucky to have know you and played for you. Rest in peace.

I played against Vic at the Bridge Center many times. He was always so kind and such a gentleman. I always looked forward to sitting at his table. A wonderful man indeed.
