William Newland Obituary

William "Newly" Donald Newland Bellevue William "Newly" Donald Newland, died March 1, 2014 following a lengthy illness at the age of 72. William was born April 28th, 1941 Charlotte, Michigan the son of Donald and Dorothy Newland of Charlotte, MI. William served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Following his discharge from the Navy he joined the Army National Guard until his retirement in 1979. William enjoyed travelling, watching sports, camping, going to the casino, sitting in the sun, reading and being in close contact with his family. We will remember "Newly" for his witty humor, generosity, perseverance, and heartwarming smile. He was a caring and loving Father. He will never be forgotten. Survived by the Mother of his children and caregiver for 40 years Linda George of MI, his loving children Bethany (Jason) Passick of MI, Michael (Valerie) Newland of NC, Eric (Angel) Bartlett of MI, Brother Bob (Charla) Newland of NJ, Sister Nancy Newland Jewell of MI, son-in-law Thomas Orel of NC, Grandchild Hunter Orel of NC, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by daughter, Paula Orel of NC and Parents, Donald and Dorothy Newland of Charlotte, MI. The Family will receive visitors at the Pray Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday March 7. Memorial Services will be held Saturday March 8 at 11 a.m. Please feel free to wear comfortable clothing. Interment will take place Monday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share remembrances and condolences online in Newly's Book of Memories at www.prayfuneral.com.
