Alex Flores Obituary

Alex Flores LUBBOCK-Services for Alex Flores, 48, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Alliance Church, 5825 34th St. with Pastor John Paul Bautista officiating. Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Alex passed away on Dec. 28, 2014. He was born on Aug. 21, 1966, in Lubbock, Texas,to Dorothy Flores. Mr. Flores married Lisa Flores on July 19, 2014, in Lubbock. He served in the US Navy for 2 years and was active reserves for 4 years. Alex was a loving husband and father. He was your all American die hard Cowboy fan. He was loved by everyone and he could make you laugh and smile on your worst day. His amazing smile and outgoing personality will be missed by many. Alex made an impact in everyone's life that he came into contact with. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Lisa Flores, his children by his first Marriage- Alex Flores Jr, Alexis Ann James, and Richard James; his stepchildren, Jasmine Sepeda, Tim Zuniga, and Dorian Rosas and grandchildren, Ada Elizabeth James and Zackary Zuniga He will be reunited in Heaven with his mother, Dorothy Flores; and a grandchild, Ian Alexander James.

It was an honor being your flower girl when I was 5. You had such a positive influence in my life since, my wonderful, smiling cousin...you'll be missed dearly. I didn't think my kids would get it when I told them of your passing, I should've known better. They were immediately saddend, saying, "He played volleyball with us at the reunion, we KNOW Alex". :) You were loved dearly & you loved genuinely, non discriminately. We'll love you always, Alex! <3

My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Alex. I didn't always get to see my cousin, but he made sure to keep in contact . I will always remember his sweet spirit, upbeat personality, and infectious laugh. I was able to see and hug Alex at our uncles funeral a week before his passing. I will forever cherish that memory. To his wife and children, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you. All. Love and miss you Alex Flores.
