Amy Collins Obituary

Lubbock- Amy Lee Collins passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in Dallas, TX. Family will gather to celebrate her life of 91 years on Saturday, November 11, 2017, with a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park. A tribute of Amy's life may be found at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for the family.

Born in 1926, in Wichita Falls, TX, to Nina Dees Hayslip and Richard Dalton Hayslip, Amy spent her childhood in Hockley County. She married Myles Lyndon Collins on June 13, 1943. Amy was a devoted mother to their three children. In 1962, the family moved to Lubbock.

Amy was well-known for her sales abilities. She began a career in real estate that spanned several decades at J. W. Chapman & Sons. Amy was devoted to the integrity of the real estate profession, and served in numerous positions on the Lubbock Board of Realtors. In 1981, Amy partnered with Ron McClendon and Martha Farmer York to form Legacy Realtors which ultimately merged to become WestMark Realtors.

Amy also loved selling automobiles at Pioneer Lincoln Mercury, and she finished her career at McDougal Properties.

Beginning in 1963, Amy joined and faithfully attended the First Baptist Church in Lubbock until she moved to Dallas in 2007. Her Bible knowledge and love for the Lord grew exponentially under the teaching of Mrs. W. H. Trice, impacting generations to come.

Survivors include her daughter, Dana Neugebauer and husband, Randy; son, Myles Lyndon Collins II; grandchildren: Michelle Spence and husband, Chad; Allison Davis and husband, Scott; Joshua Songer; Toby Neugebauer and wife, Melissa; Todd Neugebauer and wife, Sara; and Tyler Collins. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, her sister, Dorothy White, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myles Lyndon; daughter, Diane Songer; son-in-law, Marion Songer; and sister, Jamesie Coffman.

The family suggests that memorials to honor Amy be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest or Texas Boys Ranch.

Dana and Lyndon
Since I moved to Abilene, I read the Lubbock paper online. I am sorry to read today about Amy's death. I don't think I have seen her since Tom's death and that was ten years ago. She was a pretty, sweet lady. Now she is at peace and that is a wonderful thing. I hope you and your families are doing well. You are in my prayers as you adjust to this change in your lives. God bless. Love, Nelda
