Charles Earle Obituary

Charles R. Dickie Earle Sr. LEWISVILLE- Charles R. Dickie Earle Sr. was born Oct. 13, 1939. At the age of 73, he went to be with the Lord on June 17 2013. Dickie, as he was known by his friends and family, was a west Texas boy. He was born in Odessa and raised in the Seminole/Andrews area. Dickie graduated from Seminole High School and then entered the Air Force where he spent four years working on airplanes and touring Europe. In 1964, after leaving the service, he met and married his wife, Billie Katherine Hall, the love of his life, in Midland, Texas. He then attended and graduated from the Spartan Aeronautical School in Tulsa, Okla. After graduation, they moved to the Dallas area, and he became employed with Braniff International, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic/foreman for 17 years. They established their home in Lewisville in 1970, where they raised three sons, Richard, Sid and Billie. Dickie was a hands-on parent, coaching his sons' little league baseball and football teams, teaching them how to hunt and fish, developing their life skills and building his boys to be strong Christian men. After the boys finished high school and college, God opened the door for them to purchase Alternative Food Company in Lubbock. While Dickie jumped at the chance to move back to his beloved west Texas, Billie, on the other hand, had to pray about it. They owned and operated the health food store in Lubbock from 1998 to 2008. After selling the store, they then moved back to Lewisville to retire and delight in their family and grandkids. Dickie was an avid outdoorsman and loved Texas baseball and football. Dickie rejoiced not only in being a spiritual leader, but in spending time with his family and friends, grandkids, Glory of Zion church and prayer group family, and studying the Bible. Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Billie Earle; his siblings, Ronnie Earle of Rota, Spain, and Margaret Little of Fairfield, Texas; His three sons, Richard of Mansfield, Sid of Double Oak, and Billie of Lewisville; daughters in-law Tina and Christy; grandchildren Morgan, Mikayla, Alyssa, Baylis, Savannah, Madilyn, Katelyn and Kylie. He was preceded in death by: his father, Henry Sears Oochie Earle Jr.; his mother, Alice Earle; his brother, Henry Sears Sonny Earle III; and his sister, Janie Butler. The family would appreciate flowers, or donations to: The Children's Tumor Foundation, www.ctf.org, 95 Pine Street, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10005-1703 in honor of Dickie Earle. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home located at 740 S. Edmonds, Lewisville, TX 75067. Memorial services will be held at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home on Friday, June 21, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at McCurley Cemetery, 1400 McGee Lane, Lewisville, 75067.
