Doris Lee Ragland

Doris Lee Ragland LUBBOCK-Doris Lee Ragland, 81, of Lubbock, passed away on June 22, 2015. Doris was born on Sept. 16, 1933, to the parentage of Mr. Vernon Sneed and Ms. Ora Lee Kirby. She accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined the Bethel A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. Doris was united in Holy Matrimony to Sylvester E. Ragland in 1950; to this union, four daughters and one son were born. Doris was preceded in death by both parents; her beloved husband; and one daughter, Linda Sneed. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: three daughters, Carolyn S. Ragland, Mary L. Evans (Freddie), and Sharian L. Wilson; one son, Jerry L. Ragland; three stepsisters, Viola Canton, Annie Lourel Jackson and Virginia Duncans; five stepbrothers, Manuel (Dee) Sneed and Warren Sneed, John Sneed, Vernon Sneed and Bobby Sneed; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
