Elbert Roberts LUBBOCK-A memorial service for Elbert Roberts will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at Sweet Street Baptist Church in Tahoka. Elbert passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born March 11, 1938, in Grassland, Texas, to the late Floyd (Dolly) and Estelle Roberts. He married Lafon Tate on June 29, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Lafon of Lubbock; daughter, Brenda Pierce and husband Jewel of New Deal; stepson, Jerry Parks of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Ladeana Lenning and husband Tim of Lubbock; granddaughter, Jandi Tyson and husband Trent of Canyon; grandson, Cade Pierce and wife Camille of Keller; step-granddaughters, Amanda Lenning of Lubbock, Maryssa Lenning of Dallas, Taysha Lenning of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Craig Whitaker and husband Buck of Lubbock; one nephew; and one niece.
