Finis Botkin

Finis Botkin TAHOKA- Finis Gene Botkin of Tahoka passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at the age of 82. He was born on Oct. 27, 1930 in Flat, Texas to V. L. and Ollie Botkin. Finis attended school and grew up in Tahoka, eventually taking over the farm. He served a number of years on the Tahoka Coop Gin Board and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Finis married Martha Prohl on March 30, 1956 in Tahoka. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Martha; four sons, Tony and wife Carol, and Tommy and wife Carolyn, all of Tahoka, Terry and wife Diane of Longmont, Colo., and Ty and wife Michelle of Kerrville; one brother, Louis and wife Geneva of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Botkin. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Nevels Memorial Cemetery.
