Hezekiah Thomas Jr.

Hezekiah Thomas, Jr. SLATON-Hezekiah Thomas, Jr. passed away in Amarillo on May 8, 2016. He was born in Slaton on Sept. 30, 1948, to Hezekiah Sr. and Gladys Thomas. He completed his education through Slaton ISD and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Michelle Ware and together they raised four children. Michelle preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Cheryl Jean Hargrove, and a brother, Johnnie Lee Hargrove. He is survived by his children: Ken, Karlan, Jazmyne and Jawuan, as well as 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Linda and Frankie (Jesse), four brothers, Jerry, Charles (Carolyn), Glen and Billy Ray, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service for Hez will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Slaton.
