His lifelong dream of serving and protecting the community came true when he became a police officer for Brownfield Police Department in January 2014. Survivors include his parents, Charles and Deborah Shedd; two brothers, Steven Shedd and wife Bobbie, and Charles Dewitt Shedd III; maternal grandmother, Marilynn Clarkston; fianc e, Nicole Richardson; two nieces, Baylee Marshall and Dylan Shedd; cousin, Shawnee Gilbreath and husband Jimmy; four aunts, Teresa Elmore and husband Keith, Kimberly Macon and husband Willie, Evelyn Winn and husband Jimmy, Beverly Carroll and husband Ronnie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Clarkston, who died on March 16, 2013.
