Juanita Martinez Obituary

Juanita Martinez LUBBOCK-Funeral services for Juanita Martinez, 86, of Lubbock, will be on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 2 p.m. with Msgr. Jim O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Family and friends are invited for the rosary on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Mrs. Martinez passed away on Jan. 21, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 12, 1929, in Lockhart, Texas, to the late Anastacio and Maria (Ochoa) Delgado. She met and married Santos Martinez in 1954 in Lubbock, Texas, and he passed away in 1990. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and assisted the Altar Society. She loved crochet and embroidery. Survivors include her daughters: Jovita and Toribio Hernandez, Irene and Apolinar Barrera, and Rebecca Gonzalez; son, Stevan and Elena Martinez; sister, Lupe and Chon Alcorta; brothers: Ismael and Josie Delgado and Antonio Delgado; 13 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
