Martha Phillips

Martha Phillips LUBBOCK-Martha Phillips, 79, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, in Lubbock. Visitation will be held at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel with Elgin Connor officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Martha was born May 16, 1935 in Iraan. She moved to Sundown in 1939 and graduated in 1953 from Sundown High School. She married Coy Phillips, Jr. on Sep, 10, 1954. Martha, with Coy and family, moved to Arizona in 1964, Abernathy in 1974 and Levelland in 1984 where she remained until her death. Martha worked as a secretary in the Levelland ISD where she retired. Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sherri McMullen and Jan (Keith) Buxkemper all of Levelland, and Denise (Stewart) Pierce of North Richland Hills; sister, Inez Dublin, of Plano; nine grandchildren, Kacey McMullen (Matt) Nugent, Chad (Danielle) Buxkemper, Matt (Breann) Buxkemper, Bryce (Courtney) Buxkemper, Jesica (Brad) Isbell, Jared (Jennifer) Pinder, Stephen and Deanna Pierce, and Christy Cole; and twelve great-grandchildren, Stevn Patterson, Destiny and Macie Buxkemper, Mark and Mattie Buxkemper, Colton, Buxkemper, Kyndall and Kallie Isbell, Paige Nugent, Ellianni, Aramis and Trinity Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband Coy; her parents, Charlie and Lola Akin; and sister, Wanza Mohling.
