Sammy Castaneda BROWNFIELD-Sammy Castaneda, 50, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, was called home on Sept. 18, 2016. He was born on Aug. 2, 1966, in Brownfield, Texas, born to Alberto and Carmine A. Castaneda. He is survived by his wife, Hellen Castaneda; son, Samuel Castaneda; daughter, Megan Castaneda; and son-in-law, Reggie McGee. He is also survived by his mother, Carmine A. Castaneda; father, Alberto Castaneda and stepmother, Janie Castaneda; brothers, Albert Castaneda, Gabby Castaneda, and Johnathan Castaneda and sister, Vicky Diaz; two stepbrothers, four stepsisters, four nieces, and six nephews. Sammy was welcomed home by brother, Anthony Castaneda. Sammy will be missed by his extended family, Anna Maria Salas (mother-in-law) and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Cervantes, Martin and Mary Fonseca, Jesse and Janie Alejandro, Estefana Martinez, Jesse and Dionisia Flores, Patrick and Julia Giorgio, Rick and Sylvia Renteria, Sandra Garcia, Ramona Salas, and Jesse Salas. Sammy is loved, missed and will always be remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends from all over this community. Pallbearers will be Michael Castaneda, Godson and nephew, E.J. Garcia, nephew, Aaron Garcia, nephew, Kaleb Garcia, nephew, Michael Martinez, nephew, Christopher Castaneda, nephew, Freddie Gomez, friend, Matthew Carrizales, and nephew, Jesse Dude Alejandro. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Church Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at 10 a.m. with burial to follow in Brownfield Cemetery and Pastor Javier Castaneda presiding.
