Thomas Roberts Obituary

Thomas Jackson Roberts LUBBOCK-Thomas Jackson Roberts ran into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at the much-too-young age of 10. His family and friends miss him already, and the world is a less interesting place without him in it. Jackson was a big-hearted child who was an avid baseball player, wrestler, bike rider and skateboarder. If it required being outside, Jackson was all-in. He was a standout student in Mrs. Igo's fourth-grade class at Roscoe Wilson Elementary. He played baseball year round virtually from the day he was born, at Southwest Little League and enjoyed the friendships and camaraderie that came from being part of many special teams. A visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 4, at LakeRidge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Couch officiating and Jackson's uncle, Doug Hensley, assisting. Jackson was born May 18, 2004, in Lubbock to his mother, Renae Sunday Roberts, and father, Rebel Roberts. In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Bobby; his grandparents, Bill and Patsy Hamilton of Lubbock; his grandmother, Lorraine Roberts of Lubbock; his uncle and aunt, Doug and Tammy Hensley; and cousins, Hayden and Kerrigan of Lubbock; his aunt and uncle, Steve and Tracey Carlisle; and his cousin, Madison of Frisco; his aunt, Nickla Roberts; and cousins, Mikka and Mikala Smith of Fayetteville, N.C.; in addition to many other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bobby Sunday, and his paternal grandfather, Nick Roberts. In 10 short years, Jackson made an incredible impact on many people of all ages. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Roscoe Wilson Scholarship Fund or to Southwest Little League.
