Waylon Hukill Obituary

Amarillo- W. D. Hukill, 80, of Amarillo went to meet his savior December 10, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be Thursday December 14 in Littlefield, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hammons Funeral Home. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Hammons Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Azam officiating. Burial in Littlefield Memorial Park.

Mr. Hukill was born June 11, 1937 in Grandma Barnett's house in Fieldton to Judson Paul (J.P.) Hukill and Jetty Inis Barnett Hukill. He married Melba Sue Sullivan on July 3, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was involved in agriculture most of his life. He farmed near Lubbock, Hereford, and Farwell where he raised his family. He moved to Winters, Texas as a millwright. After his first retirement, he opened a retail livestock feed business. In 2012 he sold this business and retired for the second time. He had been a resident of Amarillo for the past two years. He loved reading, watching westerns, peanut butter, his family and his Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Sue of the home, two daughters, Paula Hukill of Plainview, Dana Landrum of Amarillo. One son, Wes Hukill and wife, Lori, of Pampa. One granddaughter, Jordan Hukill of Midland, three grandsons, Cody Hukill and wife Jana of Lake Dallas, Lankin Landrum and wife Brittany of Amarillo and Logan Landrum and wife Ashley of Amarillo and 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Dewey Hukill and wife Patricia of Olton as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
