Willie Earl Lusk

Willie Earl Lusk LUBBOCK-Willie Earl Lusk, 63, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on May 6, 2015. Willie was born on Jan. 31, 1952, to the parentage of Tysiam and Leavera Lusk. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Pelham, Texas. He later joined First Progresssive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Homer Avery. Willie grew up in Acuff, Texas, and attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He was employed as a lumper for 47 years. Willie met Darlena Wheeler and to this union two children were born. Willie was preceded in death by his father, Tysium Lusk; one sister, Viola Ann Henry; one brother, Alfred Lee Andrew Lusk; and one grandchild. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 40 years, Darlena Wheeler; two daughters, Latoya Lusk (Michael) and DeWalla Lusk; one stepson, Malcolm Jenkins; stepdaughters, Frankie and Twalla; three brothers, Roger Lusk (Sharon), Tysium Lusk Jr. (Toni); two sisters, Ann Lusk Menton (Michael) and Laverne Conner; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Celebration of life services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
