BARBARA KAM Obituary

BARBARA C. KAM Barbara C. Kam, 85 years old, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2021, surrounded by love. She was the only child of J. Parker and Louise Coombs, born in Ogden, Utah on January 29, 1935. She moved to Las Vegas in the 1950's, during the old west heydays, and with more than a little nudge, she'd regale her friends and family with stories of playing tennis at the Las Vegas Racquet Club with the movers and shakers of Las Vegas and tell you stories about the "characters" who used to run the strip. As a young mother she helped to run Round Up Drive In with family, went on to have a career in real estate, made and taught others how to make ceramics, and later was the successful operator of her own small business. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, James Angelo Kam, in 2014. She spent her years as a widow visiting with lifelong friends, playing Bunco, crafting, and spoiling her doggies. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Petersen and Kathy Petersen, granddaughters, Lisa, Katie and Krystal. She was delighted to be the great grandma of four boys. Services will be private.
