BILL GAMPHER Obituary

BILL GAMPHER William Glen "Pat" Gampher, of Las Vegas, passed Monday, June 22, 2015. Bill was born July 18, 1921, in Eldon, Mo., to Erna Myrtle (Rakes) Gampher and Loyd Jacob Gampher. He had one brother, Loyd Ermol Gampher, who preceded him in death. He married Ruth Betty Shephard, in 1941, and had three children, Glenda Ruth, Nancy Jean and Janet Kay. His wife, Betty, and daughters, Glenda and Janet, also preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army with the 533rd Amphibian Engineers, Boat and Shore Regiment in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as chief engineer after 38 years of service, contributing much to that industry. He enjoyed tennis, golf, the local computer club and was a hospice volunteer. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jean Kelly, of St Louis; as well as many other extended family members and friends. He was a generous and kind person who took great pleasure in befriending and helping people. No services are scheduled.
