Charles Modarelli Obituary

CHARLES MODARELLI Charles Modarelli, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away at home, Sept. 10, 2011, with his family at his side. He was born April 8, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Frank and Florence (Burt) Modarelli. He resided in Las Vegas for almost 18 years. Charles served in the U.S. Army in the Intelligence Department at White Sands (The missile Base), N.M. for two years. May 16, 1970, he married Dorothy (Calderone) Modarelli and celebrated over 41 years of marriage in previous months. Prior to his retirement in Las Vegas in 1993, he was a steelworker in Aliquippa, Pa., in the coke and tin mill. He like all sports, baseball and horse racing, and being with family and friends. He is survived by his wife; two sisters; three nephews; four nieces; and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and older brother. A private service and viewing was previously held Sept. 14, at Desert Memorial. Burial was a Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
