Thinking of our dear friend Dave Chandler.
You left us, like so many others, way too soon, 13 years today. Your love and friendship meant the world to us. It always felt good knowing all we had to do was pick up the phone and you were on the other end. You were one of the best Dave. You are forever with us.
Forever in our hearts.

Happy Valentine's Day! I miss you and wish you were here! I remember the last time you sent me flowers---I received these wonderful flowers at work and the card said "Love Rick"! I had no idea who "Rick" was! I didn't know any Ricks? I finally called you and asked if you had sent flowers and you said "Yes", but I got Ricks instead. We laughed and laughed --- but wondered if the person who got "Dave's" got in troube with their husband or boyfriend. That was sooo funny! You were one in a million, and I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of your life. I love you!

Lisa & Lori,
Stacie just told me that your dad passed away. I wish I would have known sooner, I would've come down. I was lucky and had the pleasure of knowing your dad. What a nice man he was. I know that he loved both of you girls and your kiddos. I know that you will miss him, but know that he is looking down on you girls and is a very proud papa. I love you two and your families. Love, Kellee, Rob, James & Lyndzee

Lisa and Lori,

You are in my thoughts and prayers every day! He was a kind and caring man who was always willing to help others even at his own expense. Just know he was very special, and he loved you both very much.

"Have you every lost someone you love and wanted one more conversation, one more kiss, one more hug, one more chance to hear them laugh, or one more chance to make up for the time when you thought they would be here forever? If so, then you know you can go your whole life collecting days, and none will outweigh the one you wish to have back!"

You will be in my heart forever! Until we meet again, know I will always love you!

To Dave's family,
My sincere sympathy on the loss of Dave. I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to know and work with Dave. He was not just a knowledgeable professional, but he always had time to run something by him or just chat. He will be missed.

February 17, 2010

My name is Renee Grozenski, my husband Bob and our family have known Dave for over 20 years. He was a beloved friend and
as much a part of our family as if he were born into it.
He was my Uncle Kennys closest friend for over 30 years.
It was Kenny who took him to the Hospital that January 6th.And it was to Kenny that after almost 2 weeks he finally
heard from Dave...and the first thing Dave asked about was, "How was Bob?." Who had hip replacement surgery the day
after Dave went into the hospital. Hardly concerned for himself..."How was Bob"??
It is very hard to stand in front of you today and try and say good-bye to a good and decent man. An honorable man.
Every adjective I know describes him..so instead of trying to fit the words to him I am going to read a short paragraph
that descrides the man we know, Dave Chandler.

A Man is a success...
Who has lived well,
Laughed often and loved much.
Who has gained the respect of intelligent men,
and the love of children.
Who has formed his nich and accomplished his tasks.
Who leaves this world better then when he found it.
Who never lacked the appreciation of this earths beauty
and never failed to express it.
Who looked for the best in others
And gave the the best he had to offer....
This man, our dear Dave, was a success.

To Lori and Lisa, To Dave's brothers Danny and Haskell, to his grand children, we offer our deepest condolences.
And to the woman who has been in his life for many years, Marilyn Tracy,
We too shall miss him beyond words.

To the Chandler family,

My deepest condolences for your loss. I worked with Dave for over 10 years at the Stardust and I have never met a more professional, knowledgable or honest man in my life. His thoughtful nature made him a rarity in our industry; he was always one of the first to reach out when he heard someone needed help. He will be sorely missed, and for those of us who knew him, a piece of us died with him. May God bless you and comfort you in this extreme time of sorrow.

On behalf of the Sam's Town - Shreveport Surveillance Department, I want to offer all of our sincere condolences to the family of Dave Chandler. I personally have had the pleasure to work alongside Dave for the past five years and he has left a lasting impact on not only myself, but all of the members of our department. Dave was wise beyond his years and was a delightful person to be around. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to share experiences with Dave and will cherish the time I was able to spend with him. Dave's experience and knowledge have helped to nurture our department into what it is today and his presence in our lives will be greatly missed.

Dad, I feel so lucky to have had you as my father. At sixteen your whole life changed, but you welcomed me with open arms. There was no hesitation, just unconditional love. We had the best childhood any kids could ask for and were loved beyond words. I thank you for the way we were raised, Lori and I could not have a closer relationship(Don't even think about messing with the Chandler sisters). You may have been a quiet man who kept things close to the vest, but the way you felt about us and our children was never in question. We were not surprised to find out how many friends you had or how many lives you touched, that was just the kind of man you were. Our whole family has suffered such a great loss and we will miss you more than words can say. I am so proud to have been your daughter, and thank you for helping in making me the person I am today. I love you dad...

Dave was my brother, and my best friend. His love of the outdoors gave us many hours of comaradry comparing trips, experiences and dreams. We spent hours fishing and and joking about the "big ones" that others lied about and that we "caught". His ready wit, rye since of humor, and compassion will be greatly missed by many friends and family. David I love you brother and will hold you dear in my memories.

On behalf of the Blue Chip Casino Surveillance Department, I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to Dave's family. I've always enjoyed Dave's company and hearing his stories, not to mention his sense of humor. Our discussions often covered everything from cooking all the way to music and concerts. Dave was extremely well-versed!
On every visit to Indiana, Dave and I would go out to dinner for Lake Perch. It sort of developed into a tradition the last few years, one which I am really going to miss.
On the professional level, Dave was one of the most knowledgeable and well-respected members in the Surveillance community. I am very proud to have had the pleasure of working for him. As a team, we are grateful at Blue Chip for the training tools Dave has provided for us. He will truly be missed.
Sincerely,
Tim Jackomis

Looking back I sometimes think of Dave like the hero of an old western. He would ride into town and help the little folks. Always polite and answered personal questions with a "yep" or "nope" And in the end when he got wounded he said "just pour some whiskey in the wound an dig out the bullet" And rode off into the sunset If they gave oscars for lifes proformace his was a winner

Dave CHandler. What else can I say! Always a gentleman and a professional. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him lately, but had spoken to him on the phone. What a guy, I loved it when I just sat and listened to him and Jim Keller tell stories. I will miss you Bud, Frank. My sympathy to his family!

We will miss you beyond words. You left this world way too soon. We look to see you again and that boyish grin and that little snicker you used to make under your breath.
We love you and you will forever be in our hearts.

To all of Dave's family,
We are all missing a MAN of great quality. His word was his bond, and he was extremely loyal to his friends. We worked together from 1981-89, and had stayed in contact with each other ever since. When I would come back in town he always made time for us to get together and talk, even if I had to do most of the talking. My entire family knew and will miss Dave, and I will remember him forever as a loyal great friend, and a person who taught me a lot about the business we were in. our sincere condolences,
Mick, Cindy, Rick, & Bert Shindell

Dear Lisa and Lori, I worked with your father for 20 years and never met a man who impressed me more than he did. His quiet and thoughtful nature came through everytime we met. His handshake was of a giant, yet it was a comfort with complete sincerety. He was a friend that I shall miss for the rest of my life. God Bless you and the children on the loss of this wonderful man. The memories we have of him are a blessing. John Messana, The Orleans, Las Vegas
