David Fletcher Obituary

DAVID FLETCHER David "Fletch" Fletcher, 38, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 10, 2009, due to complications from surgery. He was born July 6, 1971, in San Antonio, and was a 17-year resident of Nevada. He was an auto services supervisor for Auto Guardian, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, tank division during Desert Storm and was an avid outdoorsman. David was a beloved husband, father, son and friend who made everyone laugh. He was preceded in death this year by his brother, Todd Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by his grandmothers, Betty Kapus and Wanda Fletcher; and grandfathers, Joel Williamson and Fred Fletcher Sr. David is survived by his wife, Melinira Smith Fletcher; son, Brian; daughter, Rylee; mother and step-father, Renni and Dean Whitman of Las Vegas; father and step-mother, Fred and Patty Fletcher of San Antonio; two half-brothers, Sean and Bryan; one step-brother, Aaron; three step-sisters, Teri, Denise and Wendy; and grandmothers, Sherl Williamson of Canton, Texas, and Sheila Whitman of Las Vegas. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Dec. 16, with service following, both at Palm Mortuary Chapel, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas. Donations can be made to the David Fletcher Memorial Fund, at any Wells Fargo Bank.

I never met David but I know his daughter and she is a wonderful little girl. I pray that she will keep the memory of her father alive and will have the strength to wake up every morning and be thankful for the time she had with her dad.
