David James Gildersleeve, 67, of Mesa, Az, passed away quietly on June 25, 2021 surrounded by friends and family. His mother and father and step mother, Dagmar and James Gildersleeve and Cora Gildersleeve as well as siblings, Bryan Gildersleeve and Laura Fitzgerald, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Connie, sister Karen; among other dear family and friends here in Phoenix and Las Vegas. There were no strangers to Dave, just close friends he hadn't yet met. He was proud of his years in the Navy (VP-19) and graduating from the University of Arizona. He spent many happy hours over the past 30 years on the Houseboats Wind Rose and then Castaway Island at Lake Powell. He enjoyed driving our ski boat the Second Wind and taking family and friends into very tight and scenic canyons while at Lake Powell. In his retirement years, Dave and Connie spent time in their RV visiting friends and family and so many state and National Parks from Florida to Alaska. He will be missed. Services will be private.
