DEAN WELSH Dean Thomas Welsh, 70, passed away quietly in his home the morning of Feb. 23, 2016. Dean was born Jan. 3, 1946, in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Adele; and sister, Wanda. He is survived by his life partner, Alexandra Welsh; and daughter, Lisa Welsh Valdez, and her husband, Michael Valdez. In addition, he is survived by his beloved granddaughters, Amanda Valdez-Androlewicz, her husband, Kiran, and their children, Alexander, Isabelle, Olivia and Evelyn; Desiree Stewart and her husband, Ross; and Alyssa Valdez. With just a few exceptions, Dean was a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, where, for more than 30 years, he was a leader in real estate sales and marketing. Dean's contributions to Las Vegas' growth are immeasurable and he was admired and respected by all. Dean loved his many friends. He also loved to read, travel and fish, but (outside his family) he passionately loved (needed, he often said) road trips. It didn't much matter the destination, 10 days on the road alone invigorated him and he always returned ready and very much capable of handling the many challenges his occupation presented. A very caring and compassionate person, Dean always put the needs of others before his own. A descriptive and colorful story teller, he always commanded attention and was a natural leader. Dean never took life's simple things for granted. He commented daily how fortunate and thankful he was. The grand man with the infectious laugh and generous heart will be sorely missed.
