DIANE LOKENSGARD Diane C. Lokensgard, 67, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 24, 2006, at Mountain View Hospital. She was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Moorhead, Minn.; daughter of Ernest and Belinda Lien. Diane grew up in Walker and Richfield, Minn. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1956, and from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., in 1960, where she sang in the nationally acclaimed St. Olaf choir. She married Jon Lokensgard of St. Paul, Minn., in August of 1961. They were together 46 living years. They had three boys, Jeffrey, Steven and Mikel. While singing in the choir of Westside Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood, N.J., she wrote anthems for the church, 12 of which were published. She wrote both the music and lyrics and was a member of ASCAP. Diane was active in the Republican Women's Club in Sierra Vista, Ariz., where her husband served as superintendent of schools. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Jon; and three sons, Jeffrey (Licha) of Mesa, Ariz., Steven (Amy) of Eagan, Minn., and Mikel (Michelle) of Haslet, Texas. She loved her six grandchildren very much-Kelley, Madison, Emma, Viktor, Tanya and Jack. Also surviving is a brother, Ron (Becky) of Eagan, Minn. Diane loved family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma. She will surely be missed. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89102, where Diane was a member. In lieu of flowers, she preferred that memorials be sent to the music department of the church.
