ETHAN ANCHETA Obituary

ETHAN ANCHETA Ethan B. Ancheta, 36, of Las Vegas, passed away October 9, 2017. He was born February 13, 1981, in Bellingham, Washington, the son of Gordon and Brenda (Bucao) Ancheta. He attended Lowell Elementary and Fairhaven Middle schools and graduated from Sehome High School in 1999. Ethan was a very committed individual in everything he did. He was the neighborhood newspaper delivery person for four years, played the cello in middle school, played soccer, baseball and even tried football in high school. At the same time, he trained at the Bellingham Academy of Self Defense, earning his black belt, before graduating from high school. Ethan joined the U.S. Marine Corps reserves immediately after graduating from high school. During that time, he worked at the Bellingham Costco store and attended Whatcom Community College earning his Associate Degree. Ethan was later accepted at the University Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he also transferred to work at the Costco store in Las Vegas and worked at Costco for a total of nine years. At UNLV, Ethan earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance and graduated in 2009. After achieving his bachelor's degree, Ethan decided to go on a three-month backpacking trip. He ventured up the East Coast of Australia, including Singapore and Thailand. There, Ethan earned his diving certificate and met so many people from around the world and continued to keep in touch. Ethan would describe his experience, "It was the best time of my life!!" Ethan started his career in 2011 as an accountant in Las Vegas. In 2012, he started his career at Caesars Entertainment Corporation as an accountant and later promoted to an Analyst in Hospitality Analytics. Ethan has touched the heart of so many and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, great sense of humor and full of laughter. We will miss him dearly and he will be forever in our hearts. He is survived by his parents, Gordon and Brenda (Bucao) of Bellingham, Washington; and his sister, Jessica and Paul Barrett, and his niece Calliope, whom Ethan adored tremendously. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, and Washington; and his four-legged buddy, Zuri. The family will have a gathering 10-11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, with a celebration of life service and reception following, all at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.

Ethan was a special person and I enjoyed all the pictures in the photo gallery. When Ethan was growing up on Park Ridge Road, it was full of boys, our son Ryan Haines, the Ryan brothers, Tim & Kevin, Eric Plume, Stefan Wodjicki, Colby Narramore and the Bornsteins down around the corner.
It is hard to believe Ethan is gone at such a young age with so much of life ahead of him. We are thankful that he enjoyed his life to the fullest in such a short time.
Brenda and Gordon, we are so sorry for your loss of your wonderful son.
Your neighbors,
Gail and Marty Haines

Ethan and I became good friends during our middle school and high school years. He was always a awesome friend and always smiling and having fun. We both took the drivers school together and passed our test the same day. I think for a solid two years after that we met up every night to drive around and explore life. I think most of our golden years in life was the times shared in middle and high school and everything that happened in between. I am very thankful to have shared those precious moments with Ethan with tons of great memories that will never be forgotten , Love you Ethan

I was so sorry to hear the news about Ethan. While we hadn't been in touch for quite awhile, I have so many great memories of time spent with him in our high school days and after. I know he will be fiercely missed. My greatest condolences to his parents. Love to all. Including an old picture from one of the good times, what a smile on that guy!

We love you Aunty Brenda, Uncle Gordon, and Jess - sending love, condolences, and our deepest sympathy your way...

A fond memory I'll always have of you cuz is back when I was just a small kid. Mom flew us up to spend some time with you and the family in Bellingham - it was April Fools day and I remember us being irritating kids going around the house taping the door frames and cabinets and putting saran wrap on the toilet! May you rest in LOVE and be reunited with our family up in heaven. Love you cuz, <3Candace and family...

I had the pleasure of working with Ethan when I joined the analytics team at Caesars Corporate. Ethan had a certain energy about him that projected to those around him. When he was down, everyone was down; when he was up - everyone was in a penthouse suite.
