Forrester Mashbir Obituary

Emmy and Peabody Award winning television director and Las Vegas entertainment executive, Forrester Mashbir, died at home on Nov. 25, 2003, at the age of 82. Born July 2, 1921, in Kariuzawa, Japan, Forrester was preceded in death by his father, Col. Sidney Forrester Mashbir; and mother, Blanche Beckwith Wiley. Forrester's wife of 34 years, Carol, was at his side. Forrester is survived by his brother, Don of Nevada; and his children, Katherine Nobrius, Eric Forrester and Michael Forrester of California. A captain in the U.S. Army, Forrester served his country during WWII. A graduate of UCLA, his career path took him from television to advertising to the Las Vegas Strip in it's Golden Years of the 60's and 70's. Forrester was an entertainment executive at the Sahara Hotel as well as the Flamingo Hotel. After following an entrepeneurial path in the Hawaiian Islands, Forrester and Carol retired to Henderson in 1990. Services will be private with cremation handled by the Neptune Society.
