I enjoyed his work as the jaunty RAF Wing Commander officer in the 1969 World War 2 film, "The 1,000 Plane Raid".

Gary became a theatrical idol for me when we were singing and acting 2 weeks in "42nd Street" in San Diego's Balboa Park Civic Light Opera production in July 1993. He played Julian Marsh, the director, and I had three roles: Mac, the stage manager; "The Thug" (a blackout role); and "Doc", the stage doctor. We had the stage set from the original Broadway production, plus one of the most famous choreographers as our production director (name escapes me now). Gary and his wife had supper at my home with my family, and they also went sailing with me on San Diego Bay. His bio in IMDB understated the huge number of shows he'd acted in. I wish I could have contacted him in his last years in Las Vegas. He was much loved and respected and I miss him very much.

What sad news to hear of Gary's passing.
I have very fond memories of Gary and his wonderful talent.
I was one of the showgirls that performed with him
at the opening of Circus Circus.
A handsome gentleman is what I recall with many
Fans.
Sending Blessings and prayers to his family
Thank you Gary for the Inspiration
