1929 - 2016

GENE RUSSO Gene A. Russo passed away Nov. 11, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gene was born Oct. 2, 1929. He retired from the city of Los Angeles, having served in various capacities with the police academy. Upon retirement, he and his wife relocated to Sun City Summerlin, Las Vegas. Because of his wide ranging expertise in repair and maintenance, he served the Sun City community with distinction. His service to the community was based on honesty, fairness, compassion, superior workmanship and a warm congenial demeanor. Gene is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Gerard; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Although he suffered medically for the past few years, he never lost his enthusiasm and devotion to his faith, family and close friends. Gene was a role model to his extended family and represented a standard that all aspire to emulate. He was truly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Services are pending at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas.
