Gilbert Wagner Obituary

GILBERT WAGNER Gilbert R. Wagner, 79, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, in his Pahrump home of a heart attack. Gilbert was born in Chicago, April 21, 1929. He was a retired electrician who spent over 30 years with IBEW Local 134 Illinois, and 10 plus years with IBEW Local 357 in Nevada. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; son, Glenn; daughter-in-law, Deborah; and grandson, Geoffrey. Gilbert is survived by wife, Beverly (Berry); son, Alan M. Wagner Sr.; daughter, Nancy Weibler nee Wagner; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; uncle of four; stepchildren, Curtis Berry (Jackie), Fred Berry Jr. (Melodie). He was loved deeply and will be very missed by many friends and family. Gilbert was a life member, over 50 years, of the VFW, a member of the Marine Corp League, and the Military order of the Purple Heart, the American Legion, and one of the original members of the Golden Memories Car Club. Gilbert was a Korean War Veteran 1948-1951. He was awarded The Purple Heart for his bravery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the VFW National Home for children-The Nevada Cottage, 3573 S. Waverly Road, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. Visitation will be at Palm Mortuary, Wednesday, May 28 from 5-7 p.m. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
