GIUSEPPE SCARRONE Obituary

GIUSEPPE SCARRONE We unfortunately announce the final curtain for our much loved Giuseppe Bruno Scarrone, a dancer, entertainer, real estate broker and serial overachiever, who passed away March 5, 2018. Born January 22, 1931, in Genoa, Italy, he grew up knowing the ravages of World War II, leaving school at 14 to work at the family winery and restaurants where his future was set. However, much to the dismay of his father, he turned his back on all that and chose to pursue an impossible dream. At a young age, he discovered his lifelong passion for dance. He won many regional ballroom dance contests. He then made a decision to become a working dancer and moved to Milan, Italy for more professional classes and opportunities. After some serious training, soul searching, and repeated audition rejections he got his first professional job as a dancer in a large theatrical production starring Wanda Osiris, a popular Italian music star. It was there he learned to dance his favorite style Jazz. When he was 21, it was a very good year, he met and fell in love with his lifelong dance partner and future wife a young beautiful German dancer, Therese. A first kiss in front of the famous Roman fountain of Trevi sealed a lifelong commitment to each other. Even though they were later separated by different jobs, both worked in many different shows that traveled throughout Europe and North Africa, they still got together when they could and even managed to have their first son, Ricardo, along the way. They finally worked together again with the Florence and Frederic Dancers opening in Paris at the Moulin Rouge. The group was a big success and flown to New York to be on the Ed Sullivan Show multiple times. There, they could finally get married. It was even announced on national television by Ed Sullivan himself. The group toured throughout North America and the Caribbean. They witnessed the takeover of Cuba by Castro and were hastily flown out of the country. Back to Europe, Therese gave birth to their only daughter, Elisa. Meanwhile a young choreographer, Ron Lewis, did five very successful numbers for the group, which after touring Europe, secured a performance with the newly imported Parisian show, the Folies Bergere, at the just built Tropicana in Las Vegas. After two months, much to the surprise of his fellow dancers, he bought a house and prepared everything for the arrival of his wife and children to live permanently in Las Vegas. An ideal town to both, work steadily as a dancer and raise a family. Soon afterwards, a second son, Frederic, was born. Even though, he spoke four languages fluently, English was a still a second language he taught himself. Much to the disbelief of his peers, he was able to pass a real estate exam and start a second career as a realtor. His first customers were all his fellow dancers whom he sold homes. In 1976, he along with Garold Gardner, founded and built the Las Vegas Dance Theater Studios. He continued his love of dance even after retiring from the stage, he along with his wife and Garold taught dance classes for many years producing many professional dancers. In his autumn years, he really enjoyed his wine and taught senior aerobics which were very popular. He and his wife indulged in the fruits of their labors and cruised around the world. He again, against all the odds, became a real estate broker and had his own brokerage. He was very loyal, he always led with his heart, and those who knew him knew that and loved him for it. He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Therese; children; grandchildren; and a large extended family. We are in awe of all you achieved in your life. We were lucky enough to spend your last day with you and had an opportunity to say a very sad and difficult good bye. "You did it your way! C'est Ca Oui Bravo!!!" Service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

I'm so sad to hear of Bruno's passing. I was blessed to be one of his students at Las Vegas Dance Theater Studio. Bruno and Teresa were very kind to all of the dancers at the studio; making all of us feel very special. As a young dancer, Bruno saw something in me, took me under his wing and got me my first audition at the Lido De Paris. I owe my 20 year career as a professional dancer in many production shows to Bruno. Many hugs to your family. Rest in peace. You will live on in my heart.

BRUNO WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL PERSON AS A HUSBAND, FATHER,FRIEND, DANCER....AND AS A MAN. KNOWING HIM WAS A PLEASURE AND AN HONOR. AND IT HAS BEEN THE SAME KNOWING TERI AND ELISA (SHE WAS ONCE A STUDENT OF MINE). BRUNO LOVED AND TREASURED ALL HIS FAMILY AND HIS FRIENDS, TOO. HE WAS A GENTLE, SENSITIVE VERY HUMAN BEING AND WILL BE MISSED BY MANY.

Heart felt condolences to Teresa and family. Bruno worked tirelessly in keeping studio alive and active. He was a friend, colleague and business partner through thick and thin. Many memories! Much love and light to Bruno.
