Gloria Colvin Obituary

GLORIA COLVIN Gloria Jean Colvin (nee Katz) passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, after a nine-month fight against cancer. Gloria was born in Sioux Falls, Iowa, March 28, 1943, to Eugene and June Katz. The family moved to Las Vegas in 1946, when Gloria was just three years old. Gloria was a graduate of Rancho High School Class of '61. She worked for many years in Las Vegas as a bookkeeper for Marnell Corrao and later as an owner of Apex of Nevada with her husband, Rick. Gloria really loved the finer things in life, her family, close friends, her home and two cats, Nala and Raz. Gloria was preceded in death by her father, Eugene; mother, June; and brother, David Katz. She is survived by her loving husband, of 23 years, Rick Colvin; daughter, Shannon Holman; stepchildren, Heidi Colvin Moscorelli, and Eric and Daniel Colvin; sister-in-law, Cindy Katz; nephews, Brian and Boyd Katz; and four grandchildren, all of Las Vegas. There will be celebration of Gloria's life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Canyon Gate Country Club, 2001 Canyon Gate Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89117 (no ties please). Donations can be made to your favorite charity in Gloria's honor. If possible, please advise if you will be attending to [email protected] or by phone, (702) 507-2951.

Rick
I have thought of you and Gloria often since we left Vegas and of course always meant to give you a shout, but time flies, as you know. I am broken hearted for you. You must feel as if a huge part of you is missing. What a lady and what a couple. The both of you will be in our prayers. My thoughts to the kids also...thank God you have them.
