Gordon Wells Obituary

GORDON WELLS Gordon V. Wells, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006. He was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Milwaukee, and resided in Nevada for 10 years. Gordon was married to Virginia H. Meyers of Rockford, Ill. They celebrated their 60th anniversary this year with friends and family from across the country. Gordon served in the U.S. Army during World War II participating in the Pacific Campaign. He returned to service in the U.S. Air Force retiring in 1967. After working for the phone company in Henderson, Gordon and Ginny moved to Ft. Collins, Colo., where Gordon worked in real estate and owned a grocery store and car wash business. They retired again and moved to Las Vegas in 1996. Gordon was an avid private pilot, an active Mason, and loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Richard Wells and his wife, Lana of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Sandra Ransel and her husband, Dennis of Las Vegas; brother, Don Mueller and sister Elaine Frohman, both of Birnamwood, Wis.; grandsons, Richard, Hugh, Shane and Chris; and four great grandchildren, Kathryn, Megan, Anna and Eryk. Memorial service will be at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Donations may be made to the Library fund at Desert Rose High School.
