Harvey Kaye Obituary

HARVEY KAYE Harvey Kaye, 69, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008. He was born Aug. 22, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a 44-year resident of Nevada. He was a musician and sales representative and served in the U.S. Air Force. Harvey was the keyboard player for the 60's recording pop group Spiral Starecase, who had the hit song, "I Love You More Today Than Yesterday" in 1969. His group performed in concerts and showrooms in Las Vegas and around the country until 1984, when he retired from playing professionally. He and wife, Candy, then created Smash Productions, an entertainment management and video production company. Harvey served as advisory board member for the National Music Foundation, founded by Joey Dee and chaired by Dick Clark. For the past eight years, Harvey worked as sales representative for The Grandview Resort, acquiring honors as top sales representative for the past five years. Harvey is survived by his beloved wife, Candace; mother, Adeline Banks; daughters, Debbie Wiggins and Brenda Petrone; sons, Harvey Kaplan and David Kaplan; brother, Steve Kaplan; and sister, Brenda Guarino. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Elks Lodge, 4100 W. Charleston Blvd.
