HATTIE CANTY

HATTIE CANTY Hattie M. Canty entered this life June 10, 1933, in St. Stephens, Ala., and departed this life July 12, 2012, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. Hattie leaves to cherish her precious memories four sons and four daughters. Sons are Ruben Robinson, Darrell Robertson, Tyrone Canty, Eddie Canty; daughters are Rhonda Green, Paulette Canty, Tracy Canty and Dellene Hayes; two special granddaughters, Jetaim Canty and Holly Canty, all of Las Vegas. She leaves 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, James Campbell Canty; and sons, Eddie Lamar Robertson and Anthony Winzell Robertson. Hattie's love for her family, church and community was apparent in her actions and our memories. Her presences will be greatly missed from Sunday school at New Hope Church of God In Christ, where she was an active member. Hattie joined the Culinary Union in the early 70's working in various positions as GRA, uniform attendant just to mention a few. After nearly 30 years of hard work and dedication, Hattie was elected president of the Las Vegas Hotel and Culinary Workers Union Local 226, a position she held for three terms, helping many along the way. Hattie was laid to rest Monday, July 16, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Las Vegas.
