Howard Alltounian Obituary

Howard Alltounian M.D. D.O.

Howard Sunny Alltounian, M.D., D.O., 69, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, of a heart attack. He was born June 13, 1937, in Detroit, and resided in Nevada for 19 years. Howard was a 1964 graduate of the Kansas City College of Osteopathy and Surgery, and received his doctorate of medicine in 1969 from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He began his anesthesiologist career at the Public Health Hospital in Seattle in 1969. Howard served as anesthesiologist and emergency room physician at Willapa Harbor Hospital from 1981- 1988, prior to coming to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, he worked at numerous hospitals and surgery centers. He was active in the American Society Anesthesiologists. Throughout his life, Howard maintained an avid interest in fishing, collecting, travel, reading, sports and music. He was an accomplished pianist. Howard leaves his two children, Paul and Valerie of Seattle; a brother; and three sisters. He was greatly loved by all who knew him and will be missed for his thoughtful and caring ways. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, with services to follow, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of America, 2100 L St., Washington, D.C. 20037.
