Howard Blum Obituary

Howard Blum, 66, of Henderson, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004. Born July 12, 1937 in Philadelphia, Howard, a U.S. Air Force veteran was a 46-year resident of Henderson and a retired steelworker at Titanium Metals. He was also the owner of HB Guide service for the past 30 years while he did what he enjoyed most, fishing. Howard was an avid hunter and fisherman and truly loved the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Howard was preceded in death by his father, Philip Blum; mother, Sarah Blum; and his devoted wife of 29 years, Lore Blum. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 16 years, Janice; daughter, Phyllis (Wade) Messerli of Henderson; son, Lloyd (Shannon) of Henderson; stepchildren, Linda (Jamie) Roberts of Henderson, Catherine (Jeff) Connor of Elkins, Ark., David (Mindy) Williams of Las Vegas, Philip (Lynn) Williams of Henderson; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, April 15 and Friday April 16. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 1-800-533-CURE (2873) in memory of Howard Blum.
