JEFFREY SWARTWOUT Jeffrey Keefe Swartwout passed away peacefully June 4, 2014, in Las Vegas, surrounded by close friends and extended family members. Jeff was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Moravia, N.Y., and graduated from Moravia Central High School in 1967. He earned an associate's degree in hotel management at Paul Smith's College of Hotel, Restaurant and Culinary Arts and, in 1972, and graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout with a bachelor's degree in hotel management. He ran his family's Goodrich House in Moravia until its sale in 1978. He joined the Las Vegas Hilton in 1978, and also worked at the Flamingo Hilton and USA Hosts. He joined Affinity Gaming in 2010 as the convention sales manager. Jeff hiked extensively in the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Zion, and Red Rock Canyon. He was an avid sports fan. He also loved music and had a large collection of music, especially jazz and blues, and was a regular attendee of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He was a member of the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association, past president of SKAL, and a member of Mensa, International. Jeff's youthful energy and enthusiasm were infectious and he treated everyone in his life with kindness. He was always ready to join in the fun. His uncanny wisdom on practically any subject was readily evident, however he never placed himself above others. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him and will be fondly remembered in our hearts always. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Bradley Swartwout. He is survived by his mother, Jane Mahon Swartwout of New York; and brother, Rick Warner of California. A New Orleans-style celebration of Jeff's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the LVH, Pavilion 11, 3000 Paradise Road.
