John Brisbois Obituary

JOHN BRISBOIS John T. Brisbois, born May 29, 1924, passed away May 17, 2007. John spent much of his childhood in foster homes and orphanages in the Chicagoland area. Joining the U.S. Navy at 18, he spent most of World War II on the Bella Wood, an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. He married Janice, his wife of 62 years, Oct. 13, 1945. Soon after, he joined the Chicago Police Department, and later retired in the late 1960s. Then, he began a second career with Sears Roebuck & Co., as head of security for one of their Chicago stores and spent 17 years with Sears before moving to Phoenix. In Phoenix, he joined the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department and worked with Fugitive Recovery for ten years. John had two sons, Richard and John. At their urging, he and Janice moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to be close to their sons. Unfortunately, Richard passed away suddenly, just months after the move. John is survived by his wife, Janice, and his oldest son, John (Elaine). He was also blessed with grandchildren, Trina Verde, Gene Powers, Shannon Rice, Kathleen Powers and Chris Keefe; and great-grandchildren, Alex and Ben Verde, Aidan and Colleen Powers, Connor Rice, and Spencer and Holly Keefe. He was a good father, husband and family man, and was always there for his family. We loved him and we will all miss him. Services will be private.
