He always had a nice thing to say about my service to the Lord. We would have adjoining tables so many times at multiple Missions Conferences. He loved Filipino people so much and it saddens me that he didn´t get to see the hope he had cherished for the Philippines come to pass.

We often think of & remember Pastor John and miss him and his teachings. He was an amazing & gifted teacher. We were blessed to have had him officiate our wedding 32 yrs. ago and dedicate our two girls.
Heaven definitely gained a good man & faithful servant. Thanks, Pastor John for leading by example.

Pastor John forever changed how Paul and I and our kids viewed Christ. No one has even come close to Pastor John's teaching - he taught with such passion and spiritual wisdom. Sometimes we remember the Hawaiian shirt nights and the fellowship after Sunday evening services and we tear up. Our days at CCSV were the BEST days of our lives. As a family we are forever grateful for the love that John poured into our lives personally. We miss him immensely and wait for the day we see him and our other loved ones again. His message on the reluctant misionary has touched my life today.I never knew him but God made me hear it.I was feeling so low and I was a rebelling christian. The Lord dropped the name John Michael intomy spirit as I sought for an uplifting message.The message was mine today, May God be glorified.Pray for me to follow God honestly despite the circumstances of my life.

We will all miss Pastor John and his teaching and guidance, but he is home with his Lord now. I doubt that any one person can recount all the lives he has touched for Jesus Christ, But never let it be said that this world cannot be changed by only one man. He did! We will miss him but all know he is having the celebration of his life now.

We are truly sorry for your loss. We had the privilege of hearing Pastor Michaels @ Calvary Chapel Spring Valley. His Bible classes were to me, like being fed manna from the Lord. We just read about this in CC magazine and can't believe God has taken him home. We had the pleasure of hearing him teach at CCParker this year 2013 sometime in early spring, while our pastor was gone. W e had also heard him speak at conferences. What a wonderful Gody man. John even knew our son Patrick who served with Calvary Chapels churches. What a lost for all who loved his teaching, and lost for his family. When he taught at our CCPARKER we talked after for long time, about our sons, our grandchildren....sharing things of encouragement. You will be missed. We have all moved from Parker, co to Myrtle Beach, SC as he knew we were leaving in June and wish us and Patrick well. Diane we are so sorry for your lost and all of your children. Dianna and Family,
We have so many fond memories and stories about Pastor John that we will cherish forever. He was like a second father to my kids growing up. They love him immensely. I will always thank God for leading me through those doors on Jones back in 1989, and speaking through P.J. right to my heart. God used John mightily. He will always be in our hearts and minds until we see him again. We will miss him dearly. P.J. and Mick always had a very special bond. I know how much he loved Mick, and Mick loved him.

Pastor John was a wonderful reflection of Jesus - CCSV was the first church we attended when we moved to LV in 1995 and I often attended there over the years. I always loved to hear Pastor John preach - he always made the Bible make sense in a special way that is truly a gift from God. God bless you.

What a servant of our L-rd. Such devotion for Him, such an unquenchable passion for the King of Glory. Pastor John, you dipped your candlestick into the Father's heart and held it up for us to see so we could bring our candlesticks to also be lit by His fiery love. It's been many years now since I attended CCSV after moving out of town but am back now and wanted to return to CCSV. Pastor John and Dianna were wonderful teachers and mentors to our family; I consider him my "Father in the faith". We have never found a church family to come close to the love & fellowship we had at CCSV. A dear friend said it best, "It seems that it's always sad when someone you respect, love care for, etc passes on, even when it may be for the best...hard to let go of the way you feel in their presence when you know you won't have that opportunity again in this world".

Pastor John was an answer to prayer in 1993 when we moved here. Looking for a Calvary we wound up in a strip mall listening to a man who loved Jesus and the mission field. Pastor John preached the word like nobody else I've ever heard. I know he is having a great time in heaven, but I sure miss him here. Praying for the Michaels family.

The anticipation of Pastor John's teachings were what got me up on Sunday Mornings. My only disappointments were when I got to church, and there was a guest speaker instead! (sorry to any guest speakers)The ministry would send me cassette tapes of Pastor John's sermons while I was overseas in the military, and I have them to this day. After a short break from CCSV due to the long drive, my husband now teaches at the high school, both my son and niece attend the elementary, my sister will be teaching third grade and we have once again made CCSV our church home. Our prayers go out to the family. We know that John is with Jesus.

Back in 1980's as relatively new Christians, my husband and I had our first experience hearing Pastor John teach at Calvary Chapel. We sat under many many teachings, classes, and prayer meetings with Pastor John. Pastor John and Dianna were with us every step of the way, through our growth into stronger mature Christians. We have incredible fond memories of Pastor John: his unwavering support in helping us navigate the challenging years of raising our kids; his passion in teaching inductive Bible studies; crying as he prayed strength and hope for us as parents of a drug addicted daughter (who Hallelujah is drug free!); and rejoicing as he married our youngest daughter. My husband and I are honored to have co-labored with this Godly man in the mission field in Thailand and as a teacher at Calvary Chapel Christian High School. Until we meet again "Paalam".

Pastor John was a big part of our lives and will be missed. He married us, dedicated our children, faithfully taught us every Sunday & Wednesday. He was a great example of a Godly man who led by example. I know that he is happy in the arms of Jesus now, maybe even keeping my dad company while we all wait to join them in heaven one day.
