Kent Isom Obituary

KENT ISOM Kent Leslie Isom of Las Vegas, passed away July 11, 2011. He retired from Teamsters union after 45 years of service. He was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and moved to Hurricane, Utah at the age of one. He moved to Las Vegas at the age of 19. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served 19 years as a temple worker at the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leslie Isom and Laverne Lake Denny Isom; and son, Kenneth Frederick. He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Alice Isom. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George, Utah Temple. He is also survived by daughters, Donna (Stuart) Roberts of Henderson, and Licia (Kirby) Barkdull of Beaver, Utah; sons, Steven (Sari) Isom of Mission Viejo, Calif., and David (Ida) Isom of Henderson; sister, Marion Jenson (Neil) of Ogden, Utah; brothers, John Robert (Judy) Isom of St. George, Utah, and David (Kathy) Isom of Hurricane; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at the LDS Chapel, 221 S. Lorenzi Blvd. Viewing will be 8:30-10 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Hurricane City Cemetery, Hurricane, at 4 p.m. "Our dad is now in Heaven teasing and playing pranks on all of God's angels.

Aunt Alice, the memories the flood into my heart and my mind would take a ton of pages to fill. I remember the fishing trips in Eagle Valley. The way Uncle Kent was always acted about getting his picture taken. Okay okay but hurry up is what he would tell me. Or being at the family reunion and trying to get everyone together for pictures. I wish with all my heart I could be there with you. On Monday night a song jumped into my head. It was "How Can I help you say goodbye" The song was done by Patty Loveless. And the choirs always strikes me. How can I help you to say goodbye, it's okay to hurt and it's okay to cry. Come let me hold you and I will try. How can I help you to say goodbye. I can't be there with everyone in person, but my heart is there for you always. I love you so much. Love, Terri
