Leo Gallo

LEO GALLO Leo Gallo, 77, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007. Leo was born in Paterson, N.J., and moved to Las Vegas in 1978. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War prior to his marriage to Doris Rafferty, also of Paterson. Leo received the MVP award for his shortstop abilities while playing for a minor baseball league in New Jersey. Leo, devoted and loving husband and father, was to celebrate 55 years of marriage this coming May. Leo was an entrepreneur owning several businesses and recently retired from Checker Cab in April 2006. He is survived by his wife, Doris; their three children, Lesley Rubino of Wayne, N.J., Geoffrey Gallo of Las Vegas, and Lisa Gallo of Las Vegas; along with a son-in-law, Jerry Rubino of Wayne; his brother, Edward Gallo of West Paterson, N.J.; four grandchildren, Robert Gallo of Phoenix, Justin Rubino of Wayne, Michael Gallo of Las Vegas, and Tyler "Leo" Rubino of Wayne; and one great-grandchild, Gabe Gallo. Leo will be sadly missed. We love you. Services will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Affordable Cremation & Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89108.
