MARLENE ROBINSON Obituary

MARLENE ROBINSON Marlene Robinson, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away the night of Sept. 22, 2014, at Valley Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evah Pearl Bybee and Myron Burrell Bybee; and her sisters, Aileen Demos and LaRue Costello. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Troy Lochhead (Shawn); her sons, Kevin Robison (Tracy) and Brent Robison; her brother, Burrell Bybee; her husband, Lamond Robinson; his five children and numerous grandchildren; her grandsons, Cassidy Lochhead, Colton Lochhead, Christian Robison, Joe Robison and Cayden Robison; and her granddaughter, Makena Robison; her brother-in-law, John Demos; her dear friend, Carolyn Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews. She grew up on the Georgetown Ranch in Ely and spent a year at Brigham Young University after graduating from White Pine High in 1958. She began her career in the auto dealership industry at Hyland Motors in Ely, and continued that career after she moved to Las Vegas in July 1986, working at Friendly Ford 18 years until she retired in 2004. She truly enjoyed her work and those she worked with. She loved to entertain and was rarely without company. She enjoyed reading, golfing and playing with her nine-year-old Shih Tzu Chuie but most of all she loved to spend time with family and her closest friends, talking about the day with a good glass of wine. She was a blessing to every person she met and will be dearly missed. Services will be Monday, Sept. 29, at the Ely LDS Stake Center in Ely. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marlene's name to breast cancer awareness or stroke awareness organizations.

Marlene was one of my favorite cousins. Being two years older than me and very pretty, I was crushed when my parents told me that cousins could not be married. I loved her twinkling eyes and wonderful laugh. Marlene will be missed. My wife, Kareen, and I, as well as Marlene's Aunt Jane, send our love an prayers to her whole family.
