MARY CRANE Mary Ellen Crane realized her Sunset Sept. 8, 2012, in Murrieta, Calif. Her Sunrise was Feb. 5, 1961, in Castro Valley, Calif., but she moved to Las Vegas when she was three years old. She is survived by the person she admires most in the world and her very best friend, Jeanne Brunsvold of Murrieta; her brother, Craig Falk of Las Vegas; and sisters, Kathy Fisher of Henderson, and Patty Rich (Tim) of Tulsa, Okla. While working in Las Vegas, she was selected as one of the "Distinguished Women in Southern Nevada" and was profiled in the 10th annual book bearing the same name. She received her CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) designation, was a graduate of the Holiday Inn General Manager Program and Subway Franchisee/General Manager Program. In 2002, she was asked to help design, build and open Pala Casino Spa and Resort, where she worked for the last 10 years as senior vice president/assistant general manager. Dear Mary if only you could read these words I impart upon your departure from this life. I should be grateful to you for the favor once bestowed upon me at a low time in my life, but the moment that is most precious to me is when you visited me unannounced while a student at the famed BYU. It was a total shock and great surprise when I was feeling so lonely and you seemed to pop in at the right moment to encourage me. This is the moment I will always cherish. I will share my fond memories with my children someday and it will be the stuff of lore passed down through generations! Your memory will live on. Selah!...shekinah and shiloam

I met Mary Crane at the Fitzgeralds Hotel in 1990, and She was my very first boss at the front desk. She was such a good person, and I have to admit that I would not have had the success of today if it had not been for Mary Crane and her being such a kind person to me. I will always remember Mary. Condolences to her family and her dear friend Jeanne.

I met Mary in 1995 at Fitzgeralds. Mary was always a straight forward speaking person. I learned immediately from Mary that was the type of personI wanted to be. Honest and to tell it like it is. I also learned that even though I couldn't hit a home run. I still made difference playing on her team.
Thanks Mary

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mary at Pala Casino. The moment for me that was most special was "Fun Day" for employees and she was the first to greet me at my car. On several encounters previous she would always make it a point to say hello. This day, however she did something magical, Mary greeted me and took my hand and looked at me and said how much she appreciated my work and dedication and how valued I am. I was so deeply moved by her words and sincerity I shed tears. I wish that I had more time to get to know this remarkable person. She had such a presence I will always cherish. My deepest heartfelt condolences to Jeanne and family. She will be forever missed ,and always remembered.

I really appreciate the life of Mary Crane. I worked with her as a humble team member at Pala Casino Hotel Spa. She is the only person who sent me a birthday card each year for the last five years. I love her for that. I liked her style of direct, friendly, and personable contact with people who worked with and for her. I pray that Almighty God will bless her with light perpetual. She will be missed. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Words cannot express how sad we are over Mary's passing. My sister and I did not know until high school that we were related, then we never used our names, it was always "Cuz". Mary was an amazing person and will always have a special place in our hearts. We will miss her and have very fond memories. To Jeanne and Marys family, when I spoke with her just before her moms services, she had such wonderful things to say about you all. I know that you meant the world to her. Mary, Mary, Mary. How sad I am to hear of your passing. You were one tough boss but with a heart of gold. I learned a lot from you and I especially loved how you enjoyed the holidays. I thought I was the only one that went to the extremes until I met you. Our careers took different paths, but will always remember visiting you at Pala Casino which was the last time I saw you several years back. You get to know someone pretty well when you work with them for almost 12 years. You always have had my respect and love. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace, Mary.

My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mary Crane!!!! Sadly, I live out of state and cannot attend the services. My heart and prayers goes out to all that knew and loved her.

I just found out this evening about Mary's passing. I just wish I could have seen her one more time. I was working with Mary when I met my husband and he sent me flowers at work. I will never forget her. Goodbye, Mary.....God bless your soul.

Mary, my friend and mentor. I am sorry we didn't get to spend more time together - but as brief as it was: you made a huge powerful impact on my life! Your quick wit, sharp and astute business sense and warm, loving nature were all things I admire about you. You are ever-present at Pala, and so many fabulous things on our property bear your mark! While I miss having you around just to share those fabulous observations with, I can't help but have a smile on my face and in my heart when I think of you and that roaring laugh! I'm thankful to have had the blessing of you in my life as my friend. Peace sister!
